This patch is about the desktop companion. Heizen Meets 1.1.6 is out with the changes below — update from Settings → About → Check Now.
Mute your microphone mid-recording
You can now mute yourself in Heizen without stopping the recording. The control sits beside the microphone selector on the meeting page, in the live assistant — both the collapsed pill and the expanded toolbar — and in the tray menu as Mute Microphone. All three stay in sync, and the button turns amber while you are muted.
Muting affects only your microphone: the rest of the call keeps recording and transcribing. It also does not mute you inside Zoom, Meet, or Teams — other participants still hear you unless you mute there too.
File a meeting under a project
A project selector now sits beside the meeting category, on the meeting page and in the live assistant toolbar. Search for a project by name and the meeting moves there, so a call that started as a Quick Meet no longer has to stay unfiled. Meetings assigned this way show up on the project’s page like any other.
Recordings that stop when the call does
When Heizen can confirm the meeting closed, it now asks and then stops on its own about a minute later — choosing Keep Recording, or rejoining the call, cancels the stop. When the close can’t be confirmed, it keeps recording and asks a minute later instead of ending a call that may still be running.
A lighter recording
Screen recording now captures at 720p with hardware-accelerated H.264 where the machine offers it, and delivers that file without a second full re-encode. Live transcripts are cached instead of rebuilt on every partial, uploads stream from disk rather than being held in memory, and a duplicate audio encoder was removed from screen recordings. Long meetings cost noticeably less CPU and memory, and finish processing sooner.
Also in this release
- Linux builds now ship for ARM64 as well as x64.
- Notifications dismiss after 20 seconds, including permission errors, which used to sit on screen until you acted on them.
